22 May 2019 -- Day 14 -- Bergen, Norway

Docking in the city at 8:00 am to a overcast, foggy, drizzly day.  So there's not much in the way of pictures, and most of them we took as we walked around the center city.

The tour around Bergen and its various suburbs was very informative and we learned much about the area and its history.  However photos will have to remain in our memory banks as the opportunities were weather-interrupted.  We did manage to get those below.

Even manhole covers depict Bergen History

The center photo shows the King and Queen's Summer Palace -- flag flying on tall white building in background.  The left photo shows Rosenkratz Palace and Rosenkratz Gardens on the right -- Flag flying denotes that the King and Queen are in town.

Do you wonder why the photos show so much green and budding shrubs and trees?  Because Bergen gets an average of 270 days of precipitation a year!  They even put Vitamin D in the bread so people will get enough of it.  On a sunny, rare day, people will be sprawled out on all the grassy area soaking up the sun, even at the risk of not working! :-):-)

And tomorrow we leave Bergen for a scenic train ride to Oslo and a hope of clearer weather for more sightseeing!
Our guide joking said that this was the US Embassy!!😄😄

  1. Even though rainy, it's beautiful. Though it looks VERY cold! Prettiest McDonald's I've seen. :) I love the manhole covers! Those are great. Hope you aren't too sad getting off the ship, but at least your adventure continues!
